Anything to do with my thermostat??
If my car is started for the first time of the day, the engine slowly warms up and by the time I get to the highway it is close to normal operating temp (1/2 way), but when I punch it to get on the highway, the temp gauge drops down to about 1/4 from the bottom. It takes maybe 5 miles of driving at 70mph or so to get it up to normal temp. When I get to a light on a street, the temp will be slightly lower than 1/2 way, but the car will idle in neutral at like 1,100 rpm...meanwhile the car has been driven for 10 miles or so. This happens when the temp is anywhere from 20 degrees F up to 50 degrees. Any mornings above that I don't notice this...any ideas?

I had the same problem then i changed my thermo the next day and it was fine. you may as well change it because it is so cheap....
then if that doesnt work then you can look else where for the solution.and you got a new thermo.
