upgrading tire size on an 89 Accord

I have an '89 Honda Accord LX with 68,000 original miles. I am thinking about replacing the standard 13" wheels with some 14" alloys off a junked LXi or getting some aftermarket 14 or 15" ones for better ride/handling. But my dad thinks changing the wheel diameter from OEM will change the wheel's RPM and make the speedometer and odometer incaccurate, and possibly mess up the cars computer controls. Does anybody know about this...is it worth it? Thanks!

Normally wen you get a larger rim size you get a lower profile so that your new tire height will ethier be the same as before or very close to it. It may make your speedometer off slightly but not enough for you to tell and it definitally will not mess up any of your computer controls. If it were me I would do it. I wish I was able to do the same.

For whot it's worth.
