Question Engine upgrades

Conserding upgrading 305 to 350 in my truck. 1990 C1500 2WD 5-Speed. Will the stock computer keep up with the added fuel requirements and timing? Any forseeable problems?

Re: Engine upgrades

Hi there. As far as I know, the computers in the 305s are not that different from those in the 350s. As far as the fuel issue, 350s are equipped with 55# injectors, while 305s came with 40# injectors. But you can get fuel pressure regulators for these motors quite easily. With one, you can turn up the pressure a bit and get some more fuel. Ok, back to computers. It all depends on how radical you wish to go. I have a 93 C-1500 w/ a 355 and a 5-speed. I recently rebuilt my engine and included flat-top pistons, headers, an FPR, a larger camshaft, etc. Since the computer is limited, (unless you reprogram it) my best answer is to check out this website. Good luck.
