If you want one example of the Mosler Photon deficies as a street car how about the Hewland straight-cut manual 6-speed that howls so loud that you can't hear the radio over it for one.

Re: S7 vs Mosler?
wow, that was quick 3 day ban.....
anyway. yes, if you want the dvd in the dauer, you kinda need to have a screen of some sort. it would be kinda pointless otherwise. moving on swiftly....... and who cares about straight cut gears drowning the radio, they never play anything good anyway. the elise GT1 (see below ) has straight cut gears..... but then it doesn't have a radio...... and isn't exactly a 'commercial' road car.... dammit.

Re: S7 vs Mosler?
Well, top speeds of 160+mph for a road car holds little bearing on practically every stretch of road across the globe be it on the street or on the race track. The MT900S Photon pushes what it means to be a racecar for the road to the very limits, thusly it is more of a race car than the S7 is and performs much better in braking, handling, and acceleration.
To choose which one is a better overall car to have, it depends on the person. How often are you going to your local track? How much performance do you want out of your car? Are you one that believes looks makes all the difference? Do you care about how streetable one car is over the other when the difference is the slightest of margins? It all depends on the person... |

Re: S7 vs Mosler?
Regardless of mehanical reliability, the point remains the same: The MT900R is a success on the track more so than the S7-R.
Regarding what happened at Daytona 2003, the winning GTS Mosler had a 20 second penalty stop for having too many crew members over the pit wall. It also suffered a gearbox problem in the 10th hour and at the end of the 21st hour it pitted to assess a cooling problem. From their it passed the Corvette to win in GTS with a the #30 MT900R finishing 3rd in class. The #7 S7-R however was in the pits for almost a half hour trying to repair a chassis problem finishing 41 laps behind the GTS winner and 100 laps behind the overall winner. Part of the beauty of the MT900R is that if something breaks, depending on what it is it can be repaired easily and -- more impartantly -- quickly. |
