Question

I realize the liftgate handle take a little tank for the liftgate
to open. Now it doesn't open at all. How do you open/unlatch
from inside. And how do you fix it so that it opens normally
again?

Thanks for the advice.

Talking

ok this is the deal... or so what ive figured out heh i just bought a 94 gc off of a buddy of mine... his father had backed into a pole making the liftgate not open at all... i ripped out the panel that covers the mechanics of everything to find that there is just a long metal rod with threading that had slipped to far down... which cause it not to be able to lift the latch high enough to clear the other latch so id say to check that out if you need any help with taking the parts out just email me at [email protected] and i will give you more detailed instructions

Re: 94 grand cherokee Liftgate broke

Thanks for the reply. I, too had to crawl onto the
back, disassembled a few things and get the thread on the long metal rod to latch the darn things. Also
the latch assembly needed some cleaning and w-40 because it had too much dirt and residue. Quite a
work, but saved some money and a feel like new
back door once again
