Unhappy Finished: 1/24 Tamiya Porsche GT3

Well not a very good result but cosidering the experience I got from building this kit I am going to live with the bad result.

What I have tried and learned:
  1. How to and how not to paint
  2. Polishing paint
  3. custom decal making
  4. cf decal application
  5. scratch building parts
  6. how to make a 4 point seat belt

What I have messed up:
  1. The paint job: I accidentally had thinner drop on the body, Tried to fix the body but the color varied between the old and the new.
  2. I didnt paint the black lining and the windows ( I know I know)
  3. I placed the GT3 emblem alittle to the left
  4. The interior sticker came loose

I hope you will forgive what I have done to the kit This is my first car kit. oh well here are the pics.. Interior first then exteriors...

Progress thread here
Enjoy.

I think it looks great especially the wing on the back. Hey for all its worth you learned what you were trying to find out. Now I wouldn't practice new things on Tamiya kits because I love them to much

Nice work! Setting goals and recognizing what you did or didn't do to achieve them is a sure sign that your models will only continue to improve.

Looks great, and the paint is magnifacent. I always figured that to be the hardest part, and you've got it down pat. You won't have much trouble in the future, at least, not trouble that you intentionally make for yourself trying to convert or detail or.....

Right on! Looks great! We all learn from our mistakes ...I keep making mistakes but keep learning from them, everytime I sit down to build.

Looks real nice!

You nailed the tail-lights.

I love all the Porsches up this week! I've got to get mine posted.

Overall super nice result! I love the CF rear wing! For a first car kit, it's promising.
And the lights are the right color! Yeah!
In fact, with black window trims, it would look perfect! A big sincere . You're quick to learn!

Well done. This is certainly one of the best 'first builds' I've seen. To add details such as seatbelts, and CF decals on your first car is great. Very ambitious.

If your first is this good, your 5th should be awesome.

It looks great
I particularly like the seatbelts, the slight twist in the passenger seatbelt gives it a really lifelike feel!
