You can love your parents but you are in love with your boyfriend, husband, etc.

Re: love vs 'in love'
To me in love is a very powerful thing. I knew when I first met my wife that I was in love with her. Even though I don't really remember our first conversation. She came over to my house one night (she was a friend of a friend) and we were drinking. I woke up the next morning and she was laying in my bed next to me. Nothing happend, I wouldn't have been functional, way too much to drink. Anyways we talked for a while and the rest is history. To describe it I couldn't stop thinking about here, I didn't want to be away from her. I would call her just to hear her voice. I didn't care about sex at all. We were together for over a year and a half before we had sex. Before that I was used to getting laid all the time. Everything seemed magical, the way she moved, her eyes, she just made me glow. And my friends all made fun of me for it, but I didn't care. Anyways that is about the best I can describe it. Not something that is easy to do.

All joking aside...I met the man of my dreams 5 years and 9 months ago...and to this day I have not been able to get him out of my mind...he was the perfect man in every way and to this day I can still feel my heart pound in my chest at the thought of his kiss...he had this was of talking straight to my soul...we would say the same things at the same time...not just once or twice...but almost every conversation...it was like we were meant for eachother...his smile was like heaven...and he had this laugh that would light up my heart....I worshiped this man...
One day he called me and said he had lied to me about an ex girlfriend and that she had gotten pregnant two weeks before we met and that he would do anything for his kid...things went down hill from there...on his side not mine...I still love him now as much as I did then...maybe even more so...and I have never found another man who has treated me as kind and respectful as he did...he was one in a million...I know that I will love him forever because he is was truly my Soulmate... Re: love vs 'in love'
To love someone is to care about someone in a more physical way...not necessarily a sexual thing, but it's more about the person having to be there physically all the time.
When you're truly "in love" with a person, your love goes beyond the physical senses...it's almost a spiritual thing. You can be located physically far away from a person, yet still feel the strong connection. That connection doesn't break if a person is "in love," no matter how far away the person is from them. They are still close, no matter what. In fact, being farther away is what will probably bring two people who are "in love" ultimately closer to one another in the end.
