QVC Immortal

Here is the question of the day, has anyone ever heard of a QVC, Quad Voice coil, I saw one the other day and wondered, the possibilitis on wiring and if you had to wire up the whole thing. The picture bellow is the subwoofer with a Supposed quad voice coil.

I might also add at $400 A subwoofer, it's not that bad.

heard of it never actualy heard one or seen one in person though. i belive that a quad voice coil can be wired to run 1,4, or 16 ohm. 1 ohm is all for in paralell. 4 ohm is two sets of paralell in seires and 16ohm is just in series.

yes there are QVC subs out there. RE XXX, DD 9500-series, Beyond Audio Inhuman, etc..so many subs out there with qvc. impedence depends on the sub. there are quad 1ohm, quad 1.2ohm, quad 2ohm, etc just like how there are 2ohm, 4ohm, 8ohm on SVC subs.

you'll be fine. just watch out for overpowering. whatever the sub's RMS is, cut that in half (obviously).

Re: QVC Immortal

notice that post was almost a year ago, but there are a lot of qvc woofers All upper lies of RE are available in qvc.... A lot of competition subs also have qvc's ..... only down side is in dbdrag u can only have 2 pairs of wires comming off the subs...not outlawing qvc, but basically making it dvc......so for competition theyre worthless.
