Talking My Wish List for Die-Cast Immortality

As a die-cast newbie I'm curious to know how a manufacturer chooses what automobile it will grant die-cast immortality to. Is it a matter of securing copyrights or trademarks, you know, legal stuff? Are automobile makers involved in the decision? Does it depend on a car's popularity? How does one let die-cast manufacturer what car he would like to see made into a die-cast model? If one die-cast maker can release a 1:18 scale Chevy Vega...then why not a Ford Pinto? ...or a AMC Gremlin? ...or AMC Pacer? ...or even a Yugo?

Here is a short list of some of the cars I'd like to see immortalized ( a pretentious term, I know, but what's the ratio of 1:18 scale '53 Corvettes to real '53 Corvettes? ) in die cast:

'71-'73 AMC Javelin
'56 Lincoln Premier
'58 Lincoln Continental
'55 Packard Carribean
'70 Mercury Cyclone
'55 Mercury Monterrey
"Black Beauty" from the Green Hornet TV series

That's all I can think of for now

I think that the diecast makers have to lobby the car companies to get the license to make a certain car. Its not likely that Maisto is lobbying hard to make the Pinto, it wouldn't sell more than 3 copies.

Great ideal a diecast wish list!!

I am 27, live in Atlanta, I'll love to see the cars that have a "Hood" southern appeal like;
1975-78 Chevy Caprice or Impala (Glasshouse)
83-88 Buick Regal or Oldsmoible Cutlass (T-Top)
82-89 Chevy Caprice
All the 5.0 Mustangs
All your Big Body 80's Model Caddy's, Ninty Eights, and Park Aves. (for the pimp in everyone)
70's and 80's, big and small, Chevy and Ford, pickup trucks.
Gmc Typoon (O.K let's be real, in the hood we was big ballin to get a Blazer or a Cherekee)
Maybe even some 80's early 90's VW Jetta's and Ford Esorts (Remember how everyone had them "bo-legged" wheels stuck all out, about 8 to 10 inchs deep on like 13 in wheels, Man that stucked !!! In 3 years we'll be saying thet same thing 22's on up " You actually paid $6000 for huge things, what was you smoking?"
