all oil has leaked into the coolant tank... head gasket?!?!
I have a 99 Saturn SL.... I have used only perfomace oil (mobil One) since I bought the car in 2000 with 40,000 miles on her. She's now pushing 109,000 miles. 6,000 miles ago i realized that there was oil in the coolant tank and now I am looking for any help to shed light on the situation.
No lights have gone on to warn me of a problem. She drives immacualtely. Not an issue with performace. all lights and interior functions work. I live on Long Island. I am looking for a mechanic who will be able to fairly diagnosis the problem without taking eons to dissassemble the engine (or perhaps not) and give me an estimate. I have heard that it might be a head gasket or a head cylinder. has anyone heard of this happening before? |

Re: all oil has leaked into the coolant tank... head gasket?!?!
Doood, Without further examination, it could be a number of things. Head gasket, water jacket, piston sleeves, cracked head, cracked block.... lots of stuff.

Yes, you were told right. It is a high probablity that it is a bad head gasket or cracked head.
