if you are refering to the ecotec you aint lieing. the 2.2L ecotec is also found in the opel speedster and in that car itll run low 13's in the 1/4, claiming 150 horses some where in that range. i love this engine.

no. ive got the 2200 not the ecotec. they are both just about the same. I think the ecotec has about 10 more ft/lbs of torque

Re: 2.2, 2.4 TC and 2.2 ECOTEC

the two engines are nowhere near similar...the 2.2 ohv has 115hp 135tq compared to the ecotec of 140hp 150tq. Stock to stock the Ecotec would whoop the ohv pretty damn good.

Re: 2.2, 2.4 TC and 2.2 ECOTEC

same exact engine. The ecotec and the 2200 are a good match. I can keep up with the ecotec just fine in my stock 2200

what is this engine. if it is the same engine found in a 2002 sunfire cuz that is a 2200 cc engine. if it is the same engine then you can't keep up with an 2.2L ecotec. a friend of mine just gotten rid of his and his wife's sunfire and that car was slower even though it was lighter then my grand am.

Re: 2.2, 2.4 TC and 2.2 ECOTEC

Ive never been to the track but I can keep up with the ecotec just fine. A big part of racing is the driver. The ecotec is fast but not that fast

the 2.4 litre has some decent power i beat a 2002 auto v-6 mustang that had cold air (bbk) and exhaust (flowmaster 40's) on it and some racing rims by about 1/2 a car lenth. the 2.2 ecotec is a better engine to modify there are way more parts for them on the market including a turbokit even though there is a supercharger for the 2.4
