What's the cost of tranmission filter change out cost?

I want to know the cost in your area. The last time I paid to have my tranmission filter changed out, I paid around $75.00 (here in San Jose, California). Today, I spent around $169.00. What's your take?

Re: What's the cost of tranmission filter change out cost?

I've had the same service on different vehicles for anywhere from $35-$65. Sometimes it depends on the cost of the filter and sometimes it's a set cost. Shop around, stay away from places like AAMCO and big name shops, they don't use vaseline when they are giving you the shaft. It's a simple job. You can trust just about any tranny mechanic, and I have a hard time trusting mechanics, that's why I take the wrenches into my own hands.
