I'am gonna real soon. Just to confirm, its the KYB fronts for a 91-96 G20 and the KYB rears for a 95-99 Sentra. I have a 99 G20 Touring, any differences or will it still work?? So $85 a piece, is that a good price? it comes out too $340 + shipping, which I don't think is bad. so tony, are you going to get the sentra rear kyb agx shocks too? Does that place you got your maxima rears have them in stock? I need both the p10 fronts and sentra rears, I will go down there as soon as you find out.

Plat-num, what kind of springs do you have? How low is your ride? The sentra rear shocks will not have problems like with the maxima kyb rears? tony (ty423) had them and he said it actually raised his car instead. Do you have pics of your ride?

What springs should I go with now that I am gonna have KYB'S all around. I am looking for a 1.75-2 inch drop? what do you guys think

Thanks
wow enough questions lol

yeah, i'm gonna order both front and rears, not sure where or when yet. I listed www.tirerack.com only because its the only place i found on the net that seems to have it readily available/in stock and you can order online. Probably not the best price, but pretty good.

btw, wicked, from what others say, if you lower it more than 1.5" on KYB shocks you will void the warranty on them, just to let you know. also intrax is probably the only spring company that even makes anything lower than a 1.5" drop anyways, and you probably dont want them cause i've heard they ride like sh*t. I'd go for either the eibach's(-1.2") or the tein s.tech medium springs(-1.4"). or if you want to spend a little more get GC's.

Thats cool. I'am going with H&R Springs (1.5/front - 1.5/rear) I'm gonna order probably today since they take 3 weeks to get here.

Thanks a lot!!!

you will eventually have to buy new shocks with the gc's, I don't think they are really worth it unless you got money that your not planning to spend on anything else.

Trust us, you don't want to run the GCs with stock shocks. It will ride much worse than stock!
The KYB AGX shocks are pretty cheap if you want to save $$. Konis (I have 'em) offer really good performance, nice ride and are rebuildable. Downside is that they're not externally adjustable like KYB.

yeah but koni doesn't make rears i believe for the p11 though.

it has just been discovered that the kyb p10 fronts* and kyb 95-99 sentra rears* fit perfectly in the p11 set-up

so you can have kyb's all around, that is the best way to go. along with some nice lowering springs, and you got a bangin ride

...if you're going to look at it that way then, KYB doesnt make front OR rears for the P11

Koni has a setup for the euro P11's. Some people (including myself) have had problems using the rear shocks w/ GC's. I'm not sure if the problem is because the rear of the euro P11's is different, or if its because of the GC mounts. The fronts work fine, but for the rear you can either use 8040-1242 ('95 maxima shock) or 8040-1220 (I forget which car this was designed for but Donsster uses this one).

BTW, I dont know if anyone has ever tried using the euro P11 Koni kit with other springs (ie... use the stock mounts w/ the Koni's). This would confirm if the problem w/ the rear shocks is due to the GC's or not.

One last note to anyone buying GC's, make sure you know which type of shocks you will be using before you order the GC's. It does make a difference (the sleeve sizes vary)

the 8040-1220's initially designed for anything with a N15 chassis...i.e. almera/pulsar.

koni north america just recently lists it to fit the rear of a 95-99 sentra. and just comfirmed it recently to also fit the rear of a US p11. which donsster already knew it fit before it was confirmed.

so basically you have a choice now, kyb or koni? both adj. but the kyb, as the donsster stated, are externally adj. and koni's are not. both should work fine with GC's.

Yep, I've had the 8040-1220s on my P11 for a year now and they're fine. We were able to fit the 8040-1225 on stock springs, so theoretically they would work with coilovers, too. I think they would fit better with a new upper mounts like Motivational Engineering has. But why bother? The 8040-1220s are fine, even though their valving is a little bit softer than the 1242s .

Unfortunately, there is no really cheap way to lower your P10 or P11 if you want the car to handle or ride close to or better than stock. But, I see lots of lowered Hondas pogoing down the street, so for some people it's worth it just to get rid of some wheel gap. Enjoy the ride!
