ecotec motors lose the stock rods around 280hp.
not sure where you got the BS 1000hp claim. i was going to mention the norris-designs cars, but you got to it already. consider that you still don't need as much hp as a supra/skyline to get down to those times... you can do with 500hp what a supra/skyline would need 600+ to do...
