OK, so to recover this post from the recent hijacking...
He has an 89 turbo which means he has the 3.73 rear gears, 6500rpm is just over 160mph on a manual but 145-150ish is about the max with the 0.70 final gearing of the A340 (auto trans) depending on tire and wheel size. 160 is possable with a package of 5 cent washers from home depot on a manual though, stock he must have had one very long straight streatch of highway with most if being downhill but it still wouldn't be near 170mph. Just incase anyone wants to call BS on me I've uploaded someones old pic from SF, hope he doesn't mind



EDIT: Finally got my program to work and ran the numbers for top speed with .70 a340 final gear, 178 is possable in the auto, but not without 350+ hp to overcome the drag and gearing. My program says 146mph with stock HP and tires is the most he could hit.

I've done 140mph in an 89na so I'd say a turbo would should hit 150-155.
