Re: Re: Got a lots of questions about the rx7 2nd, 3rd generation

I tell it like it is, you tell it like it ain't. I provided a total build sheet, and an answer to a question.

What have you done besides give people misguided information, and bad grammar?

Re: Got a lots of questions about the rx7 2nd, 3rd generation

your provided a build sheet of extremely high prices. all I said was it would be easy to find most of the items cheaper, but for some reason you feel the need to be a dick. I don't know, maybe your mom didn't hug you enough growing up so you have issues or something, but seriously we don't care, we don't like you, and no one likes to be yelled at so maybe you should change the way you communicate with people. most people don't respond well to anfer(me being one of those people) I just happen to be tired so I'm not in the mood to argue and yell back at you, because you are really just a waste of my time.

Alamo rotary is a pretty reliable place for stuff. they charge 35k for a 20b conversion, but that also includes more than just the engine. they quote the full thing to be like 36k. you can check it out at: http://www.alamorotary.com/3rotor_conversions.htm you'll see it also engine management system cuztom radiators etc. i know you can find used 20b blocks for like 5 grand more or less, and you can do the swap yourself for much less of course. it's always labor that screws you over. parts estimate for everything was around 27k.

Re: Got a lots of questions about the rx7 2nd, 3rd generation

ok so 27k then subtract the extra parts that aren't in/on a normal 20b engine an you'll be even lower, then a few grand for the swap and you'll still be under 30k

so its possible to get them under 30k but 25k would be the cheapest possible probably if your very lucky, althought with extra parts certain shops add in it can cost 35k... end of discussion

Re: Got a lots of questions about the rx7 2nd, 3rd generation

ok I don't know how reliable this is but someone PMed me with this site that says it sells the 20B engine for $3,999... never seen it that cheap... maybe it doesn't have the tranny? I don't know I didn't look into it much but I thought some of you might be interested

oh, i forgot to mention, a long with the whole 36k for that swap, it also includes a custom cradel to retain rx-7 handling characteristics. these guys really go all out. and yeah, i bet that 20b for like 4k or whatever is probably just a used block, like i said earlier, i've seen them go for under 5k, but you'd still need a trannie, pumps, radiators, etc. but a lot of the work in the 20b conversions is that cradel. custom fabrication can really make things expensive.
