anyone interested?

This is to anyone in the southeast Wisconsin area. My friends and I are starting up a real car club. By real I mean not going out and getting some jackets that say you’re in one. By real I mean our own car shows, events, racing, regular meetings, etc, etc. The club is called Misguided Motorsports, as in any type of car can join with the right mods. We plan on getting well known around the nation, but at the moment there are only about 10 members who are qualified to be in. We are looking for persons with at least med. modified cars, who have done all the work themselves or have participated in: i.e. - a friend helping. I also don't mean just engine, suspension counts as well. If anyone is interested or just wants some more info, e-mail me back at [email protected]. Thank you all

I take it by your setup that your a drag racer.
(AOD, etc).
lemme know if you want to modify your car for real racing someday.
I've spent 20k and the last 3 years on my stang and can outhandle a z06 which is fun.
putting 450 to the wheels is fun too!

Re: anyone interested?

no. i think he meant your putting down all other types of racing.
i personally love road racing and hard driving over drag racing. but i don't know that i've ever pushed it in someone's face and called it "real racing".

that's pretty one-sided and biased to me.

honestly, you've not had much good to say for the posts that i've read. and it's annoying, honestly.

Re: anyone interested?

There is nothing wrong with drag racing, but its not the only real racing out there like flylwsi stated. Yes, I love racing, yes I mostly drag race, and I do it in a bone stock car. Doesn't mean I can't do real racing, it just means I have to bracket race or is that not racing either??? Just my .2 cents. The guy is just trying to get people to join his car club for crying out loud. You don't need to down him just because his car is not as modified as yours.

I once heard
I think raceing is raceing, I once heard from a professional drag racer, that racing is racing, if you take a true racer from the drag strip he would be able to go road raceing also, and run with the best of them. The racers name is (Don Garlits), you might know the name, one of the founders of the sport. If you,ve ever noticed there are a lot of people that are switch raceing lately. I think you should give all types of raceing
an equal chance, just look at it like this, if you run a winning drag race car, then you obvously have the better response time most of the time, and your car obvously performs well in the 1/4 mile. The quarter mile is designed to test a cars ability to hold together under mass amounts if stress, jsut think if you were the engine in that drag car, the guy behind the wheel takes the engine up to say 10,000 RPM before he leats the trans brake or clutch go, just think about the stress of that. Say you were a road race driver, then your car would be designed to handle the corners at a high speed, and your brakes and transmission would have to be able to take on the major task of slowing you down. At the same time your engine would have to be able to sustain long periods of high RPMS. So the point is that all kinds of raceing deserve to be respected, I mean when was the last time you seen a road race car go 330 MPH in a 1/4 mile.

Re: anyone interested?

thats true, I respect racing of all types.
I was being rude and I apologize.
All racing requires different skill sets, and should be respected for the skills that are required of them.
Drag= reaction time and alot of technical knowledge.
Road racing requires braking, and seing the line.
And all racing requires focus and determination.

Re: anyone interested?

If one guy works his ass off to be able to pay for parts to set his Mustang up for drag racing, it is because he likes drag racing. Why in the hell would he care if you spent 20k to be able to outperform a Vette? He drives a Mustang, not an 06, he travles in a straight line, you take corners. You can't brag about cornering to us, dumbass. We don't care if you can stick a corner better than us. Thats not what we do, so if you insist on trying to compete where you don't belong just line up beside me. If that hurts your feelings too much, hell I'll go through the twisties with you. Only catch is you'll still get smoked. Since you seem to like an unfair match I leave the Mustang at home and break out my bike. A Suzuki GSXR11, and of course it's modified. So far my best time is a 9.89 1/4.

OK, I just went back and reread your post and you were not as much of an ass as I remembered, woops sorry about that. Just hate to see someone rag on someone else because they're into different stuff. And dude if you can run with an 06 you've built a bad ass machine, no better or worse than our drag cars, just depends on what you like. Truthfully I love a curvy backroad, but not on my 5o, my Iroc Camaro is pretty cool, but the GSXR is insane. Sub 10sec 1/4 mile off the showroom floor. Nasty

Re: anyone interested?

I don't know much about a Triumph but the ones I've seen looked cool as hell. No doubt they are nice bikes.
