I've been reading a lot of post here and lots of people seems to want to get coilovers for their P11 and most people want to get those just so they can lower or raise their cars.....the coilovers actually do more than just adjusting the height ride of the car. I mean, if you are not intending to actually go on a race track in a regular basis, there's absolutely no need for coilovers.
If you just want your G20 to look nice, just get the Intrax, H&R, or Eibach springs with KYB AGX shocks...that would give your car a nice look with upgraded performance from the factory set up.

Do you believe that the same applies to P10 owners ? I have been trying to track down an answer to this for weeks. If anyone actually has a P10 and has changed suspension please reply.... also a picture would help ...

well the Eibach or H & R springs wont give you much of a drop if you want "good looks" and the intrax springs are a horrible ride... as many of us (including myself have found)

this is why we've found the tein or the koni/gc setup to offer the most options as far as ride quality, and adjustability. this subject has been beaten to death..

as far as the quote:

Quote:
if you are not intending to actually go on a race track in a regular basis, there's absolutely no need for coilovers.
c'mon!!! gimme a break... if you really mean that.. than you should've just said...

"if you are not intending to actually go on a race track in a regular basis, there's absolutely no need for intakes, headers, lightweight racing wheels, exhaust, big brake kits, turbo, superchargers, racing suspension, sport seats, carbon fiber hoods, etc..."

you hear that all you "non-racers" ?... stick to chrome rims, tint, and stereos, lol...

my $0.02

they are roughly the same price ($1000), and I only have experience with the p11 setup. i think you have a p10, correct?

i posted all about it in the thread "suspension question for p11"

I got my TEIN NAs for less than $1000, so I wouldn't get the GC/Koni set up if that's gonna cost you roughly $1000.
The spring rate on the Intrax springs are actually softer than the Eibachs even though the Intrax provides a lower height. I had eibachs before and they seem to ride a bit soft, however, I enjoy stiffer ride so my opinion might be off.

What you say is very true...however, most of those upgrades are noticeable and i figure that's why most people install those things....however, no one would notice if you have coilovers or not that's why I said that if you are not on a track in a regular basis, there's no need to spend that much money for a coilover just so you can adjust the height. Performance KYB shocks are about 80bucks a pop and combine that with any springs, it would cost you less than $600 and that's plenty enough to keep your ride looking good and riding nice.

Thanks for all the info guys. A local shop here in Miami gave me this quote:

" 229 eibach springs, 276 tokico shocks, 100 for labor"

What do you think ? I have not heard anyone mention tokico shocks in this forum, only on se-r net for sentras.

Any opinions or help appreciated. He also told be if I could get better price on either he would still do the install for $100.

Thanks ....:flash:

I wasn't aware that tokico had anything for the P10's or any year g20 at all That's kinda odd. Maybe it's just a OEM replacement. You might wanna ask what model of the tokico's he's getting you and maybe part numbers also. If it is a OEM replacement those will just blow in a matter of time.

Do a search for yourself www.tokicogasshocks.com the only shocks I saw were for the I30's and Q45's.

I'd get the KYB AGX's, a little more expensive but adjustable dampening, 4 way in the front, 8 way in the rear. Under $400. Probably one of the best streetable combo's (Eibach/AGX) www.tirerack.com www.coximports.com good luck :licker:
