oh, my room mate does have a laser though (same as gen 1 eclipse) and it sucks ass, and I haven't heard many good things about the gen 1's though... so don't get a gen 1.

new eclipses dont break down easily at least IMO. my brother has a 2001 eclipse gs and it has 45k miles on it and hasnt been in the shop yet, except a broken side mirror, damn atl traffic. i dont know why many people dont like the new eclipse, but it has grown on me.

the reason i dont like the 3rd gen of eclipse is because they got rid of the turbos!!!

lol the 3rd en eclipse isnt really an eclipse at all, its just the bastard child of the 3000gt bearing the eclipse name

yeah
1st gen ecplispe sucked ugly slow and less options to modify
2nd gen fuckin killed everybody off the line 3rd gen sucked its so ugly and boxish. venom where in colo does ur buddy live...i'm in the springs.

Nate about two hours north. And the other dude.. man.. I don't care if there are 1st gens in the 8s... there is more to a car than drag racing... And I want to see where you're getting your info anyways? cuz if it's not on the stock engine I'm not talking with you anymore.. this topic was about the eclipses.. not an eclipse with a 3000gt engine in it or whatever..

Man, there is so much ignorant misinformation going on here.
1st gen ecplispe sucked ugly slow and less options to modify 2nd gen fuckin killed everybody off the line 3rd gen sucked its so ugly and boxish. For yor information many 2nd gen owners swap in the 1st gen 6 bolt 4g63 because of its strength and better flow and b/c it does not develop crankwalk. Both 1st and 2nd gens have the 4G63 engine just a very slight variation from one another. Any true DSMer and racer knows to watch out for a 1st gen. As far as killing everybody off the line, both 1st and 2nd gens came in the all-wheel-drive GSX model so I have no clue as to what your talking about. I do agree about the 3rd gens though. I don't care if there are 1st gens in the 8s... there is more to a car than drag racing... Obviously you know nothing about Eclipses b/c if you did you would know that turbo Eclipses have no need for engine swaps as anything else would be inferiour to the 4G63 that is already inside it, and the money it would cost to swap in another engine would have made your car much faster than any swap could.
