Exited about the new Eclipse? I'm sure as hell NOT.(Plus=Turbo Honda owners are dumb)

Some of you may have seen the pics of the next gen Eclipse. Altough everything is nice and dandy, I think history is gonna repeat itself.
When the second gen Eclipse was in production, and I saw the third gen Eclipse photos (I was 14 at the time), I got all exited thinking it's gonna be FASTER. But nope, they stuffed in a crappy V6 engine to pull in gullibale buyers who think the new one is faster because it has a V6 and the older one has a 4 cylinder (regardless of horsepower).

**Same with people thinking 95 maximas are faster than Integra GSR's just because Integras are 4 cylender and maximas have an almighty v6. I showed every ignorant stupid shit-talker at school that I could beat a v6 with a 4 cylender, I'll never forget that day, nor will I forget how stupid they all felt.**

BACK ON TOPIC. So pics come out for the new fourth gen Eclipse, am I exited? Hell no. Not unless it's more than 240 HP, 4 cylinder, and lighter than the second or first gen.

Why does it even matter to me??? Well, let's just say I'm slowly turning my back on Hondas and starting to look at DSM.


And another thing. Why people buy Hondas to turbo them seems like a stupid things to do. You can start with 3 or 4 other engines that are TURBO-READY but NOOO...you have to buy something you have to build up so you can turbo it. Let's look at your ooptions. You have a 4g63, which is a damn fine engine and turbo ready, the Nissan SR20, which is also a damn fine engine, and the Mazda B6T, which was born for turbo. The money a Honda owner spends on preparing his honda for turbo, can go towards buying a nice used first gen eclipse. I own a Honda because I like canyon racing, if I was drag racing...I'd go DSM.

EDIT: ^^^ This is all I thought about at work today, it feels 10x better when you put your thought into text. I feel much better now.

I hate those people! They think they know shit till you gotta put so much effort to show them there stupid (and everyone else, cuz everyone believes them), man sometimes its not even worth it. I need more people like you in my school.

This is so true. When i first got interested in cars and drag n shit...i looked at honda, but realized that its stupid to turbo them, its a waist of time, there is better out there! The only honda i think i would buy would be the s2000, just put it on a diet n its set...

AcesHigh, I love Hondas but as long as they're built for road/canyon racing and they stay all-motor. A hatch with a B18 is very potent but if you decide to go turbo, why not buy a DSM or a Nissan instead and save the hassle fo preparing your engine for turbo. Right?

If I liked a brand of cars, and wanted a turbo car.. I would certainly not go buy an mr2 if I didn't like an mr2, I would turbo the honda.

Im sure that's what all the honda owners think.

Because if I like a Type-R integra, I don't want a damn MR2 just because they are 'built for turbo' I WANT A TYPE R. just an example.

People will spend more money to get what they want, rather than do whatever tickles someone else's fancy. Who the fuck cares if a DSM can have more power, if your favorite car is your NSX. You aren't going to sell it because someone else is like 'dsms are better for turboing'

If you're reffering to me, my car is a stock GS-R. If I was allowed to buy an Eclipse, I would. My dad does'nt let me buy something as fast as a turbo Eclipse.

I've got a Prelude. Compression is at 10.0:1, and the internals are not made for much more than what it already does. A turbo running anything over 7psi would kill the h22a. But it still pumps 190hp off NA power, which is pretty damn good.

I love my car very much, but I would spend half the money buying a first gen talon AWD and getting much better timeslips. Or an old Rx-7.

From what I've seen/heard, the GS-t is a whole .5 faster than the GS-R. That's a pretty big differance. My dad knows that If I get a GS-t, I'm gonna do all these sneaky things to make it faster, like raising the boost with a hidden boost controller. With the integra, if I make it any faster, with intake/header/exaust, he'll know right away.
