Rebuilding Wrecked Cars...

I am not "new" to cars, but I am not a car "wizz" either..and I figure if I learn, I would do well. But my question is...How would I get info/training or whatever is required in doing a project like that. I know it can't be hard...just a matter of replacing parts, am I right? I just feel that it would personalize my car...relate it more to me if I rebilt it. Plus I'm sure it would HAVE to be cheaper?? I want to get a 98-02 WS6 Trans Am, wrecked, and rebuild it, if that helps...If you could...Thank for helping!

What would you do with a wrecked car? Its suitability for rebuild is inversely proportional to the damage sustained (vs new). But to me, wrecked means totaled. No point working with messed body, chassis, and everything else.
