I Really Need Help

A: MY Car A 1900 Grand Am Se Quad 4

Im new to the car and my hood wont seat p[roper it closes to a point but wont go any further.. i know it sounds stupid but help plz.

also last night i was driving and my engine over heated plenty of coolant but im wondering i checked all teh fuses so im thinking the fan.. but right next to the thign u pull for the hood there r 2 wires a red and black the black is attached to a screw but the red one is just swayigna round what do these do plz help./
