a bit touchy about losing to camaros arent we all? i will admit that i dont know everything about mustangs, 14.5 was a guess. didnt mean to insult you all by adding that half second.
anyways, as many "excuses" as you all hear, i dont give a flying shit about an ls1 camaro. people who drive them tend to people with big mouths, at least around me. its just been my experience (so calling me "kid" doesnt really work out) that in the classic 5.0/4.6 versus the lt1/ls1, the chevy almost always wins. i will admit that i have been beaten fair and square by a few stangs in my time, but honestly i have won more than lost by a far shot. i was never saying that it wasnt possible that mustang_man actually won, i just said it seemed unlikley to completley miss second gear and still come back to spank his ass. missing second is the end of the race 99% of the time, in my past experience. especially when your cars are accelerating at a rate to push you into 12's, not having throttle for one second is disasterous. juuuuust the way it seems to me, im not trying to piss anyone off.

I called you kid based on a generalized assumption of your age due to your user name format.
An LT-1 Vette will be fairly successful vs many stock and mildly modified GTs. It's the only car my 87GT actually lost to. It's not touchy about losing to the LS1. We all realize that with few exceptions the Mustang isn't a match for the LS1 off the showroom floor or in many cases, even with mild modification. That being said, the arrogance of many LS1 owners is completely disproportionate to the true performance capability of their cars. Cool LS1/LT1/GM owners also exist as well, and as you'll notice, we don't have any problems with them.

I hear you on that one unit. I fully agree that there are some cool LS1 owners but yes the majority feel there cars are the fastest on the street. Back to those guys that I was talking about wtih the two Camaros, I think there greatest lines ever were the ones after I told them I had just riden in a new Mach 1 and told them how fast it felt. And sbasically that riding passenger I felt it seemed quicker ( I am not saying this is an official way to judge a cars speed, it was just casual conversation) and they got all uptight and were like, yeah well our cars don't feel fast they just are??? Does that make any more sense to any one on here then it did to me? At that point I just kind of stopped listening to them talk about there cars.

LT1-LS1 users fail to realize that they will lose to a 5.0 with good set of aluminium heads and intake(manifold for import guys) thrown on. I know this is not stock 4 stock but you do have 48 more cubes.
The shit really hits the fan if the Mustang has close to or more cubes a.k.a. 347,351w, 393. Then the excuses really start to fly! Bottom line is LS1 are great cars stock from the factory but it doesnt take much at all for 5.0 guys to beat you.
