Queston about adding a second hidden battery..

i have been talking to many people wit civic hatcvhes. there cars have been broken into and there batterys were disconnected.. there alarm was shut off and the stuff was stolen.. my car was broken into 2 weeks ago. they took my tack my deck and all my CD's ...i am putting an alarm in and some other goodies. this weekend. I DONO HOW THEY GOT IN.. BUT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF FORCABLE ENTRY..

i want to know if there is any way to run a second battery so that if the main battery was disconnected the secondery battery would keep the alarm going.. plus the secondery battery would be hidden .. what would be a good place to hide it..?...

i am putting a few kill switches in.. a nice hood lock and stuff like that.. they are gunna have a hard time getting my shit this time around.. lets put it this way .. if they do get my stuff .,.. they wont be able to hear anything anymore... .. so please get back to me wit some answers if u can..

Noone Gunna Make me Get rid of my Ride.. just b/c they want my shit...

second battery? why if i can still read you are just now getting an alarm if you would have had say a compustar or hornet/viper or any make 2 way alarm we wouldn't be having this convo. I'm not bein rude but you know ppl steal and if you do have shit it will get stolen. hell my dad has been hit for his classical music and jensen amp/sub combo<-- worth maybe 250 bucks which half of which were cd's at 20 a pop. to get to the point a second battery is pretty much if you have shitloads of audio. i'm not sure if i should share this but givin there is a way to break into cars with a speaker magnet and a certain spot on the car. but this is only if you have an alarm and it doesn't have a backup battery. which is very small and goes under the dash. Alarms don't always stop theft but gives you a heads up.

Add three extra siens beside the one under the hood. One in the rear inside hidden, on under the dah up front, and one under the rear of the car. My friend even put one in his speaker box so that they couldn't get to it. Second move the brain. Put it someplace that is hard to get to and not under the dash, like under the rear seat. Three a small 8 volt bat should due the trick, easy to hid. Spare tire well is a good place. Any more ideas

yeah my car also got broken into with pretty much no sign of entry. They popped the drivers side window forward a little bit and reached down and unlocked it i guess. I only noticed after looking forever and seeing the part where they seperated the weather stripping.

they make back-up batteries specifically made for the alarm. Hide the alarm and battery VERY well.

Smile i know this is old.

i know this is old, but not much in here concerns security w/o alarms...and i don't want to start a new topic overthis.

but Honda83 asked for similar stories of unforced entry.

my civic has been broken into 5 times in the past 2 years, once stolen. Amusingly all from a "secure" parking garage. Twice they just broke a window. Twice they forced the lock on the driver's side door. But once....they did something funny to the driver's side backseat door. (i have a 4 door)....

That last technique confused me forever. how'd they get in I wondered? About 2 weeks later i was actually in the backseat vacuming it up and finally discovered that the interior part of that backseat door was popped out almost an inch from the window (guess i'm not that observant...nor do i hang out in my back seat)...so i surmised they'd come in that way.

I suppose the technique is the same getting in a back seat door as it is the regular driver's door. but was still strange to me.

now my real curiosity is into the criminal mindset. ok, my car doesn't have an alam, but if you look inside, you'll see it has a factory am/fm stereo....so wtf is the logic of entering a car you aren't gonna steal?
