ZC distributor re-pinning

So I was talking to a performance shop today and they said that on a ZC swap most people don't know that you have to re-pin the distributor. First of all I don't know what the hell that means, and secondly, why?

I had to swap out plugs since the ZC one was larger than the other end on my DX harness. I just used the DX distributor plugs plugged into the same exact spots. Worked fine and was easy.

yeah you either have to re pin it or you can do what i did and make an adapter harness so its plug and play, all you do is cut the plug off your old dist. (or one from a junk yard) and cut the plugs off that come in with the new engine, match up the colors and soder...
