what is an assymetrically turbocharged system?

i was looking on the net one day and somethin' on saabs interested me, an assymetrically turbocharged system. i didn't really get what it means, i think what i got from some of the info is that they basically put a turbo on one bank of cylinders and not the other? Wouldn't that be hard on the engine since one side is pushin' more backpressure than the other? but it would seam like it would almost eliminate turbo lag cause one side can generate normal power and doesn't have to push anything.

Asymmetrical turbocharging is where a single turbo only is mounted on one bank of a V engine (Saab V6), and the other bank just has a normal exhaust manifold not going through the exhaust turbine.

The turbo compressor supplies boost to all cylinders.

This works quite well where only a low boost pressure is required, and saves space and cost.
