Hey, Mr. Alfa, just to let you know, here in Mustangland, we really don't care what your engine size is. We care who wins the race.

It's run what ya brung, and if you lose, no amount of whining about the size of your opponents engine is going to make you the winner.

Why even invest the money in a supercharger if you are only going to run 5psi? I don't know how well domestic engines hold up to boost, but as a rule it's about 8-9 psi for jap engines with no internal work. I'm sure it's no different for these engines.

Personally I'd take a 30 year old beat up Alfa over a brand new Mustang,
if I ever had a Mustang again I would park it behind my house just to use it as an out-house, that's all they're good for, I would just leave the driver's window open and push my ass in there and do my business.

sure they got a lotta power, but for a limited time, then they unravel like some rotten old door mat. and those 3.8l Mustangs are the shittiest ones made, I mean come on! you could get some Jap car for less and pay less insurance and have a more reliable car that WILL last longer, man cut it out...get rid of that shit.

I had no problems with my v6... and I ragged it out alot more than I do with my Bullitt.

Superchargers come with a 6lbs and an 8lbs variant, with different pulley sizes (8, 12, 16, etc).

If someone is saying they're running 5 lbs of boost outside of a turbocharger, they're lying to your or you're just dumb for believing it.

well, i am 17 and i drive a 2000 ford mustang coupe.....i am soon trading it in and paying the difference to buy a cobra, because the v6 seems to lack the power that is usually associated with mustangs.

also, i dont know where you are getting your $3000 insurance quote from, mine is $1300/6 months at geico.

Here are the engine options for the pathetic Alfalfa Sprout 156.

1.6L DOHC I-4 120hp@6200rpm 2800lbs
0-60 10.5sec whooo scary... that's right in 4cyl Mustang territory.

1.8L DOHC I-4 140hp@6500rpm 2800lbs
0-60 9.4sec, still get beat by a new auto vert 3.8L Mustang.

2.0L DOHC I-4 165hp@6400rpm 2850lbs (note 11.3:1CR)
0-60 8.2sec, still get beat by a new V6 manual without a problem.

2.5L DOHC V-6 192hp@6300rpm 3100lbs (manual transmission)
0-60 7.3sec, finally rivals the V6 Mustang whoo hoo. With the second best engine option, next to the GTA no less

3.2L DOCH V6 247hp@6200rpm
0-60 6.3sec, wow, the only Alfalfa 156 that can beat the new V6 Mustang!!!

Soooo impressive. Not

Firstly the Twinspark engines were never made to be raced (the 1.6, 2.0 and 1.8) they are solely made for eonomy and city-driving.

The 2.5 like mine is a far better engineered engine than the Mustang do don't call it junky- and with minimal modification I have bought the car to almost GTA-like acceleration- hey are that easy to tweak- lets not even get started on how much better of a chassis the Alfa has- and the fact it actually has IRS (Lo and behold) trust me the GTA is only the start of the engines- even still the 0-60 times are just .3 seconds slower than the GT Manual - the new GTA-m should beat a GT without any real troubles at all- track and strip- the 156 was designed to be an enjoyable track car should the track call- it NEVER was meant to be a strip car- even though I ran a high 14 when I did decide I wanted to take it to the strip.

Trust me- if you even tried to put a POS V6 Mustang on a track against anything from the 2.0 (I4) and above- then you would get eaten alive- well-designed chassis' and suspension is far mroe important than acceleration times I'm afraid

and calling an Alfa ugly is ridiculous- it is a car designed with imagination- the Mustang is a cross-betwwen vulgar and plain- not a good combination- while the Cobra is nice and agressive looking- anything else is just plain blah.

So perhaps it'd pay to quit talking out of your ass and get a Cobra or 156. Put up or shut up little boy.

1: Reliability issues less work to do to the engine to get it prepped to handle 5psi as compared to 8-9.

2: HP goal, if someone is building an engine to get a certain amount of power out of it and comes up short by about 30 hp.

3: To say you have a supercharger
