WHat do you think of v6 stangs

I'm only 16 but I have a 96 stang with a v6. People dis the v6 because its low on hp but I can't afford the insurance on a GT. I like the v6 and other than a few weaknesses that can easily be fixed the 3.8 is a longlasting engine. Although I only have 145hp, that is far more than any of the kids at my school and I have 215torque which is preety inpressive. One guy that the 3.8 v6 is complete junk, even tho he was driving a alfa romeo(Europes geo).

what do you think? Post your opinion.

There good if your looking for a sporty car that you won't pay a lot for insurance on. I will probably keep mine until I'm out of college. Then I'll think about trading it in for an upgrade.

Stuff you faggot- firstly Alfa Romeos are by no means Europes Geo- that is perhaps Skoda- Alfa Romeo is closer to Pontiac- but even better still- and I stand by the statement that the 3.8 V6 is rubbish- The Japanese make much better V6 engines for the price- I bet you could find a Nissan Maxima 5 speed for that price- and blow the doors off the weak little "I want to look like I'm driving a muscle car" pose-mobiles- I mean 145 bhp is mediocre- even the GM 3.8 is better- and I hate that engine- for gods sake kid- pull your head in.

Kids- should be seen not heard

Jimster, the 145 hp was back in 1996. The 3.8 liter is now producing 195 horsepower and 225 torque. But back on subject, I'm 16 too and I own a 2001 v6 stang. I wanted to get a '99 or '00 GT, but my insurance company wouldn't insure me (even with a 4.0 GPA). I still think that v6's are cool, even though they aren't as fast as the GT or cobra!

Sorry to play devil's advocate, but I bet your 2.5 doesn't have as much torque.

One thing to note Ford is not trying to make mean V-6 motors. That's why they have V-8's

Not to mention the car is a POS. Sorry, but not only are Alfa's ugly, but junky too.

Here are the engine options for the pathetic Alfalfa Sprout 156.

1.6L DOHC I-4 120hp@6200rpm 2800lbs
0-60 10.5sec whooo scary... that's right in 4cyl Mustang territory.

1.8L DOHC I-4 140hp@6500rpm 2800lbs
0-60 9.4sec, still get beat by a new auto vert 3.8L Mustang.

2.0L DOHC I-4 165hp@6400rpm 2850lbs (note 11.3:1CR)
0-60 8.2sec, still get beat by a new V6 manual without a problem.

2.5L DOHC V-6 192hp@6300rpm 3100lbs (manual transmission)
0-60 7.3sec, finally rivals the V6 Mustang whoo hoo. With the second best engine option, next to the GTA no less

3.2L DOCH V6 247hp@6200rpm
0-60 6.3sec, wow, the only Alfalfa 156 that can beat the new V6 Mustang!!!

Soooo impressive. Not
