Which car would you pick
![]() Well I've been checkin out the 2k2 gti lately but have been reallllllllly confused about whether I should buy the new vr6 or 1.8t. I've read the posts but I'm wondering if I wanted to play around with the car, but not mess up the warranty and want to change cars after 3 years which is a better buy? ![]() Thanks, ----------------- ![]() |

if you look at the other threads about a vr6 vs a 1.8t, you will see that if you are looking at the bang for your buck motor for mods... the turbo is it...
in other words, if you are budget minded, get the turbo. for about 500 dollars, you can chip it and have about 50hp... for about 500hp w/ a vr6, you can get a nice exh that nets around 10hp. if the money is no object, then go vr6 and turbo it... the only advantage of the 1.8t is that you already have the toy that everyone wants, along with an amazing audi 5v/cyl head. cant go wrong with that. granted, the "new" vr6 is better, but as a n/a car, it is not the easiest thing to modify. dollar for dollar, the turbo is "better". i m not choosing one over the other, just stating what i know. also. a turbo car brand new is cheaper than the vr6, which saves you money. it is also a bit lighter. this works out for your power to weight ratio. and your dollars for mods fund. now. if you are keeping it stock, and just putting a nice exh on it, i would go vr6, more power outta the box, and better sound. so damn nice w/ a deep throaty exh note. remember, out of the box, w/only an exh. it depends on your wallet |

I agree... Being the turbo fan that I am, the 1.8T would be my choice bewteen the 2, easier to mod to get big power out of, and alittle cheaper too.
