Have a 2001 beetle. Occasionally when I push remote twice to open both doors the trip odometer resets to 0, the clock resets to 12, the outdoor temp display has 2 lines in it then returns to temp. THe radio also switches in memort to lowest channel on radio. The first time this happened the radio was locked and had to be released using code. Only began happening when the temp got in single numbers here in New York. Any ideas on what is causing this intermittent problem?

Re: trip odometer resets/ radio resets to lowest channel/ clock returns to 12
Are you sure it is related to the door lock system? All these things will happen when the battery gets disconnected from them. It might get complicated if it's definitely related. If you haven't had the battery die then you will need to start by checking the wiring for loose connections at battery & fuse panel & especially check fuses 11, 16, 37 & 42.

Thanks, I had the battery checked when i had the oil changed and they said that it was in good condition. We will check the fuse panel and the connections.
