Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

has anyone dealt with Hobby Export lately? I have ordered a number of items through the Hobby Export website and even have 2 receipts but haven't been charged on my CC yet? I have tried contacting both SRC & Hobby Export via email but neither have replied ??? the first order was placed over a month ago!

If anybody has contact details for SRC/Hobby Export, other than the ones on the website I would appreciate it?

Thanks

Re: Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

This has happened to me before, there is a reason behind it although it can be alarming if you don't actually know David.

SRC and HobbyExport are a sideline for David, he actually has another full time job/business he operates which sometimes puts a lot of demand on his time. Couple this with having a family and I am sure he gets stretched pretty thin at times.

I know it sounds like I am making excuses for him, but I have been dealing with David on a personal and business level for a long time now and can vouch for him - he's not taking your money and running (in fact, that's why your credit card hasn't been charged - he won't charge it until he ships your order).

I haven't dealt with him recently, but in my experiences David was allways ver "vouch-able". I allways had very good and personal service from him - and I have to agree with all Freakray said.

Re: Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

I think you should not let your customers wait for a month (or more) and there will be the shipping that also will take weeks to arrive for some. Replying to a mail and give some explanation is not that difficult, how "busy" you are..

Couldn't he let the customers know that he's on vacantion and the mails will not be replied for now?

Re: Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

I've purchased from him before and was VERY happy with his service.. my concerns this time are because I am getting NO RESPONSE from anyone??
He should have someone replying to messages if he's on vacation, don't you think? or at least a notification that he is away and will be returning...
I could have ordered the parts somewhere else if I had known he would be away for over a month?

I didn't order anything (yet) and you are the man with the connections :-)

Ps: Great cars you build Zeljko! Why is it that one must click twice on the buttons to activate?

Re: Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

I, too, am waiting for an order to arrive. My credit card has been charged over a month ago and I haven't had any news about my order. I've emailed David twice since the credit card was charged and I am still waiting for the replies....

Re: Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

I had a frustrating experince ordering from SRC/HE about this time last year.

I placed an order for a single item, and by mistake I gave credit card info that was no longer valid- my error. But I waited patiently for my order, and nothing happened. It wasn't until two weeks later when I emailed and asked about my order status that I was told "oh, yeah, your card didn't go through". I think it was a reasonable thing to expect of him to contact me and let me know there was a problem instead of just waiting for me to follow up. Immediately gave him the correct credit info, but by this time it was time for his vacation, so an error that should have been dealt with in one day resulted in a full month delay in recieving my order. I did get the merchandise for the expected price, but it would have been quicker to get it from HLJ- not a glowing recommendation for a domestic mail order service.

Re: Scale Race Cars and Hobby Export

Part of what has happened is that the person who he hired to help fill orders became somewhat lazy and let things slide for a long time before David found out for sure what was going on. I believe all together that put him about three months behind on things and I know he was going non stop trying to get them fixed. If he is on vacation, he definitely deserves one. As for ordering and waiting a month, that really isn't all that bad. I have had a MFH Aston Martin DB4GT on order for quite some time, but I know how busy he is. Besides, I don't think I'm going to build it as soon as it does get here so I can wait. Give David a chance, he will make everything come out right in the end.
