CEL code 16 - how to fix?

My 90 std hatch is throwing code 16 - fuel injectors. When I drive to work in the morning the CEL comes on and when I turn off the car and try to restart it, it won't start. Just cranks and cranks. But if I wait a few hours for the car to cool down it will start fine and the light won't come on at all until the next morning.

what should I look for to fix this?
Will injector cleaner work at this point?
also I've been reading about he main relay in these cars, could that be it?

thanks for the helpd.

Re: CEL code 16 - how to fix?

I found this thread through an internet search.

My prelude just threw this code 16 as well.

I already replaced the Main Relay and I know it works beacuse I have another prelude and tried it in that car and it works fine.

Fuel Pump and fuel Filter were professionally replaced 2 weeks ago by the previous owner before I bought it.

Whats my next step?

Replace fuel injectors?

Thanks in advance for anyone that can offer any advice, also apologize for bumping such a rediculiously old thread.

Re: CEL code 16 - how to fix?

i had the same problem in my 4 door, it ended up being the iat.. intake air temp sensor. you can test it with a ohm meter. un plug the sensor, it sits on top of the manifold , its white. dont quote me but i think it should read 1.2-4.8 ohms or so.. also quick cheat afterwarm the car up, you shut the car down, try pulling the ecu fuse for ten seconds then the car should start again..
