I have the codes - how do I fix???
1998 4.3 with rough idle when cold - then fast idle (1200 rpm). Real poor gas mileage. Getting Pending Codes P0171 & P0507. I have the descriptions but how do I proceed to fix? Thanks for ideas.

Check all vacuum lines going to and from the engine, sounds like you have a vacuum leak.

Most likely a vacuum leak
You can also try: Cleaning your MAF Cleaning your IAC valve Make sure that the butterfly isn't partially held open by carbon or a sticky throttle cable.
