88 dx in 90 dx axles

Will axles from a 88 fit in a 90 hub? I have a 88 tranny which i wanna use in a 90 but my 90 axles won't go all the way inside the tranny. so my question is will it be fine to use 88 axles in a 90.

I think it has different splines thats why it wouldn't go in all the way. Just get the 90 axles. 89 should work also.
