More Imprezas.......but with a difference

Hi Guys,

Here some shots of some recently completed Imprezas. These kits are 1/43rd scale. They are made by Heller/Airfix and are of somewhat lesser detail, not up to the standard of Racing43 1/43rds for example - but who can complain for less than 10 Australian Dollarydoos (that's US$5 or 3 quid).

Anyway, "Street" Impreza was built by myself. Local fad here is to put car audio stickers in back window, hence "Clarion" transfer from a Pug 206 kit. I intend to eventually outfit interior with speakers, subs etc. "Rally" Impreza was built by my girlfriend - not bad considering it was her second kit ever.

Hoopy! :flash: The green one looks very sleek and mean, particularly in the second last photo.

Lucky guy having a GF interested in your hobby!

Look great, where in Australia are you Potsie? I've never tried a 1/43 scale car. Might look for a 78 Trans Am if I can. Welcome to AF by the way.

Doesn't look like orange peel to me, rather the flake in the metallic green paint. Flash photography probably accentuates the effect. Remember these models are 1/43rd scale. Metallics often look overscale in 1/24th so at half the size again it would be a real problem.

Very nice. How are the tires? Every heller model I've built came with really awful vinyl tires. Have they improved the quality recently?

Both cars are really looking good! I love the WRC one, seems like a 1/24, so well made!
also, maybe you should consider accentuating the panel lines, should come out nicely...

great job !

1:43 scale.. thats pretty small.. it looked like a 1:24 model..

can you take some pictures with a 1:24 model or something like a US. quarter..

never seen a 1:43 model in my life yet...

1:24 is already damn small..

those look good, but the green one doesn't have "b" pillars.. or the pillars behind the front windows!

Great job tho!
