What's the body painted with?
enamel, Laquer, or Acrylic paints? If it's Laquer or Acrylics, you can just use some paint thinner to clean it up... If it's enamel, just repaint the body.. |

If it's not acrylic, put some isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) on a q-tip and rub it lightly. If that fails to work, sand at it with some fine grit sandpaper (2000 should be good) until you sand the black off, then polish the scratches out with some Tamiya compound.

Relax my friend it's not ruined. Try some ammonia it usually will remove most marker inks and will not affect the paint. Alcohol may dull the paint. As for th panel lines polishing will remove the ink from the body but leave it down in the panel lines. A safe easy way to do panel lines is to use a sharpened tooth pick and India drawing ink or use a very small(10/0 size)brush and apply Tamiya flat black(thinned to a watery state)

You have some luck, because you used Tamiya synthetic lacquer, which is one of the toughest hobby paint. In fact, your fist picture look like it's a standard process to do fine panel lines, if a cotton swap is going to be used to wipe the excess.
I don't know what type of ink the fine point pen is using, but if it's water soluble, water is all you need to clean the excess black. If not, use alcohol or enamel paint thinner. Make sure you test on a scrap piece of plastic, or just paint the lid of the spray can with its color (, which I always do), wait until it's dry, and try those thinners to see if it affects the Tamiya paint. If not, it's safe to use, so just moisten a cotton swab, and gently rub along the panel lines, and you can achieve finer panel lines than just using a pen. |
