Angry Disaster! Help please!!

I was driving tonight and the whole back end of my car fell down (I drive a '91 Dynasty). I'm so ticked because I JUST had it saftey inspected a couple of weeks ago and a week after that had it in because of a noise in the back. What are some possibilities of what could of happened? I'm so mad as after 3 years of relatively problem free ownership, we've had a ton of crap happen all at once. I'm starting to think our time with this car has come to a close and I'm not even sure what I can do with it!!

Any help, advice, ect appreciate!!! Thanks

Carla

Oh yeah, as in fell down I mean the whole back end is just sitting on the back tires. I just had the struts fixed, don't know if that helps any.

Re: Disaster! Help please!!

I suggest the work on the struts is related to the problem.
It may just be that one side, not both, has broken. I suggest if you had new struts installed, using the old springs, that the strut retaining collar was not installed properly. Take it back to the place that did the work. Likely, they should fix it free.

A safety inspection usually only checks brake operation, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, and horn. At least that's what it use to be in New Jersey. No such thing as a safety inspection in Nevada.

Re: Disaster! Help please!!

Here they're really thorough with saftey inspections. I had to have a lot of work done to pass, they're really strict and check everything.

It could very well be the strut. I think he just welded it, which is absurd with our roads. THis would be the third time in two months I've had problems with one strut or another if so.

Re: Re: Disaster! Help please!!

Sounds like the lower spring pockets rotted out and the springs pushed through.

Re: Disaster! Help please!!

I think that's what happened. I can't remember the exact phrase he used, but I'm going in tommorow because he has to get a spring for it (it got lost when it happened).
