Ran out of Gas now Engine Won't Start

My 1988 Honda Accord ran out of gas. When I filled it with 3 gallons of gas the car wouldn't start. It just cranks and doesn't turn on. So what could be the problem? Thanks

depends on how long you cranked it for. If you totally ran out of gass, you gotta crank it a little more to help the fuel pump force the air out of the gas line.

Another problem is maybe you didnt run out of gas in the first place, but your gas pump died. Same symptoms, and if it happened if you were near an empty tank, it would have seemed like you just ran out. Check out the gas pump to make sure its working. If so, then just crank the the engine a bit more, baby it ya know, and it should start.
