I have 1994 Camaro RS.
Ran out of gas one night. I refilled the tank. Car still won't start. It turns over but dies. Any ideas? Thanks |

Re: Ran out of gas; car won't start
There's a chance that by running out you killed the fuel pump and/or engine

Re: Ran out of gas; car won't start
yeah, you might have burned up the fuel pump motor by running it with the tank empty.

it's the pump.

the pumps rely on the surrounding fuel to cool them down. No fuel= Hot pump=pump seize up

Re: Ran out of gas; car won't start
do you hear the pump turn on when you put your key in? if not then you know your pump is bad

Re: Ran out of gas; car won't start
can you remove the fuel line from wherever it bolts to on your engine (fuel rail, carb, I dont know) where and shoot some compressed air through the line and maybe it will shoot out anything that is in there clogging your fuel line? unless it is the pump thats bad.

Re: Ran out of gas; car won't start
me thinks you have to bite the bullet and get a new pump. running out of gas on these things is a big no-no, tears up the pumps...
