Le Mans Contest Entry: 1968 Ford GT40 Mk I - Completed

During a moment of clear sky today I managed to set up and take some snaps of the now completed Mairesse/Beurlys GT40. Among other things the rear cover now closes properly.
I'm mostly relieved to finally have this finished for the competition. Sorry about the size of them to all you dial-up folks like me.

bloody hell!!!!
Now THAT is one mind blowing model even though it doesn't look like one (like a model, I mean)

The details and precision is beyond my imagination.

Thats friggin awesome. To be the honest the only thing that gives it away as a model is the 'pureness' of the black. When you see photos of real cars most black parts tend to be a very dark grey.

If it was dark grey I'd be hard pressed to tell if it was a model and remember he held back making this due to lack of time! Jesus!

Are we gonna get some awesome outdoor pics aswell?

Cheers and good luck in the contest.

P.S. Anyone who says 'looks like a diecast' will personally be killed by me.

I think I will never buy a GT40 kit, I was going to but now I know I would ruin it
Man this got to be one of the best GT40's I ever saw.

INCREDIBLE attention to detail, fit and finish Phil. One of the nicest GT-40's I have seen.

Ultra incredible! This contest has really brought out the best in some of the best modelers on this board. Your builds are truly an inspiration to me: fidelity to the prototype, (amazingly) clean construction, stupendous scratch skill.... It's the whole package!

Thank goodness you're a judge (although, you will be particularly good at finding mistakes....)

Absolutely gorgeous Phil!
I wish I'd come down to Melbourne to see some of your cars in the flesh!
