AEM Pulleys, worth getting?

What do you guys think? Are the AEM pulleys worth getting? I've heard that they are a good mod for the Prelude but I'm kind of skeptical.

good stuff...
check out the hondaprelude.com buildup on a 3gen lude... they are worth 10 ft lbs tq up to 3500rpm... that is pretty substantial for gettin off the line...

so i definitely think they are worth it, but you have to have the time and $ to get the car tuned with em

Sounds like the gains are worth the money to me. You said "if you have the time and money to get the car tuned with em". What did you mean by that?

Okay, but why do you need dyno time just for installing pulleys? Maybe I'm missing something very obvious here but I don't understand why I would need to take my car to a dyno when I'm just replacing the stock pulleys.

I donīt understand that neither! I mean when youīre replacing the cam gears you have to dyno it because they are adjustable but pulleys arenīt adjustable! I always thought itīs a simple bolt on like a header!? And Iīve heard that there are also some drawbacks when itīs about pulleys!

Cool deal, I just ordered the pulleys so I'm going to find out what gains I get, if any.

I think he might have ment to get those type of gains out of the pulleys you have to go to a dyno.

hey Supafly, do you have cams too? How are the gains on those?
Did it take you long to adjust them?

No Buh Buh, I don't have cams, or even cam gears for that matter. I heard that the pulleys helped cut out some parasitic horsepower loss caused by the alternator and the power steering. And they supposedly give you a little more pickup and my Lude could definitely use some of that. Sorry I couldn't help ya' on that question man.

I know what you mean Buh Buh, that's what I've been doing for the past few weeks. I decided against the VAFC for now. I want to get all of my engine mods done before I get that. I decided to get the pulleys and scrap my aluminum wing because I'm tired of it these days. Right now my car is in the bodyshop getting my new Wings West Commando wing painted. As soon as I get my car back and put the wing on I'll post a pic or two. I think it's gonna' look sweet with the Commando wing, or at least it's going to look a lot cleaner. What was I thinking with that aluminum wing?????
