General Status Update

04/08/04

Current Vehicle Modifications:
- StopTech 4-Wheel Big Brake Kit (14.1" rotors)
- 350EVO Adjustable Swaybars
- XERD Long-Tube Headers
- Borla True Dual Exhaust
- K&N Typhoon Intake
- Z-Xtreme 6-Wire Grounding Kit
- 245/40/18 F and 255/40/18 R Potenza S-03 Pole Position Tires
- AutomotiveForums.com full windshield banner (good for blocking sun from 25 to 30 degrees above the horizon, and of course 5 additional HP to the top-end)

The Vortech Supercharger is expected to ship Monday/Tuesday of next week.

The installation of the supercharger and engine internals, along with tuning, will be done at SR Racing.

The following sponsorships are currently pending:
-3 Way Adjustable Coilovers
-Wheels and Tires
-Carbon/Carbon Clutch and Lightweight Flywheel
-Engine Internals - Low Compression Pistons, Forged Rods, and Camshafts.

We will be grabbing every suspension modification that Wright Tuning (350EVO.com) comes up with.

NISMO LSD is being considered.

We are also researching our options in Engine Management Systems.

After some laps at Mid-Ohio, I believe that downforce would definately help with the upcoming additional power of the supercharger.

The topic of doing a widebody kit has come up, but at this some no decisions have been made.

Any feedback, good or bad, is very welcome!

Am I wrong or was there talk of retrofitting an awd system from a Skyline?

Unfortunately, that had to be dropped due to our deadlines.

Re: General Status Update

aw the 350z, such a beautiful car. This project is awesome! Do you guys plan to get any new rims for the 350z??? And downforce??? Please no big aluminum wing, it will destroy it's beauty. But I guess if it's goin to see the track it will be useful

Re: General Status Update

Yes, lightweight racing wheels should be on their way pretty soon.

As for ugly wings, no need to worry about that. This project is about "power, agility, and elegance."

Re: General Status Update

get the Nismo wheels! I know you said you didn't want a big brand or whatever that everyone had, but its nismo, just seeing nismo wheels makes me want to buy a nissan instead of a mazda, well almost just a though...

get a suttle body kit if its added, and somethign that sticks with the natural curves of the car

oh yea and change your avatar, have somebody photo shop the 350z into a cool avatar for you!

super charger... yum!

Re: General Status Update

NISMO LM GT4 are a possibility, but a very low one at this point. No matter which wheels we end up going with, I am sure you will enjoy the looks - all of our options are GREAT.

As far as body modifications, I think we found something awesome that is actually necessary to work with some other components we are looking into

Re: Re: General Status Update

i have two things:
i think it's possible on anycar to make some kind of flat bottom out of glasfiber, at least flatter than it is now with all the holes and openings, of course this is positive for drag (speed) and if you set the car up low enough and give a bit of a diffuser on the rear for downforce.
2nd, try stripping the car, especially the seats, because seats always are heavy parts that sit high!

let me just add a third, don't do the nismo lsd, try a quaife, these are fitted on ford's focus rs, which has great traction, and on lightweight cars like westfield xtr-2 and xtr-4 and the record holder on nurbrugring's nordschleife: the 330 bhp hayabusa engined redical sr-3

btw, the diff is torque biasing!

Re: General Status Update

what sort of power are you expecting? Are you firming up the suspension all the way? You aiming to cream Porsche GT3's

Have you taken into account the life expectancy of racing products?
You switching off the VDC permenantly?
Piggy-back ECU or complete rewrite of original factory ECU?

Re: General Status Update

Yes, compression and rebound adjustable shocks.
VDC is off.
HKS F-CON is the likely candidate as of now.

Re: General Status Update

for your downforce Mine's makes a sweet dry cabon wing. its a bit radical but if you got a cf hood and a nice body it would look sweeeeet.
