abs and parking light on

I've done some searching around and found that this seems to be a fairly common problem with Ford vehicles, but have found very little in terms of solutions. Was hoping someone might be able to help with the above problem.

The vehicle is a 95 3.8 Windstar and the problem started a few days ago. When I start the car the parking kight comes on right away, and the ABS light will permanently come on after driving...braking..and then hitting the gas. At this point both lights stay on.

Ive had the car looked at by two different places...neither having a clue as to the solution. Brakes check out OK....fluid is full etc. Had diagnostics done but didn't seem to help. Canadian Tire wants me to bring it back and charge hourly. Can get kinda costly....

Anyways, anyone have any suggestions? Is a Ford dealer a reasonable option?

Thanks in advance,
Ron

Re: abs and parking light on

I assume you mean parking brake light? When that light illuminates, it automatically will give you an ABS light. Check the parking brake handle, is fully stowed. Check the switch for the parking brake. Check the fluid level sensor. I'm not sure on the windstar, but check the shuttle valve switch on the master cylinder.
