94 SE 3.1 ABS and Brake Light - ABS mod?
Trouble with a 94 Grand Prix SE 3.1L... ABS and Brake light are on. My brother took it to Midas where they got the codes:
27 Excessive LR wheel acceleration 28 Excessive RR wheel acceleration 42 Rear ESB does not hold motor 51 Rear axle nut fail They're talking about replacing the ABS module, pretty expensive. Guess that's the only way to go? Coming to that conclusion from the codes? Any help appreciated. |

Re: 94 SE 3.1 ABS and Brake Light - ABS mod?
I would change the two hub bearings on that side first. ABS modules work in a cross pattern, and a bad ABS module would show a LF/RR or RF/LR problem if it was an abs module/motor problem. How could a front drive car have excessive Rear wheel acceleration, they are just along for the ride. I would bet the wheel speed sensors (part of the rear hub bearings) are sending a bad signal to the computer, causing the readings they show. Last but not least, there are no rear axle nuts on your car, so I think their info is bogus, take your car elsewhere.

Re: 94 SE 3.1 ABS and Brake Light - ABS mod?
does the light just stay on? or does it acctually flash a code? when the ligth is solid like i have on my 94 gp... all that means is your brakes are working but abs isnt... normally just a bad wire into the caliper or the abs plug just came right out of the caliper...
