b16 wont start
Drove my newly swaped jdm b16 91 hatch up to school. On the way up it shut off twice and wouldnt idle without wanting to cut off. I figured it was becuase the engine had not been run in several months. When i got it to school i parked it and came back the next day and it wouldnt start. It should be getting fuel and should be getting spark. has new battery. Doesnt want to turn over. dont know what could be wrong? someone have an idea?

Check ALL your battery connections and verify they are clean and still tight (I mean including the ground termination, the positive lead to the starter motor, etc... ) If your battery is still charged, it ought to crank at this point (assuming a good starter motor, also). Try jumping it with a known good battery after verifying connections, if it cranks yours is low/dead/maybe no good. Once its running... Did your car EVER run right, post-swap ? Hopefully you get some expert assistance in chasing down the problem. I mean in the carbuerated engine days, 'poor idle' was often times as simple as a vacuum leak, someplace... PEace, Z |
