Another Idle question...

After I run my car for a while, when I stop at a stop sign or even just have the car in neutral, the idle will be way up at 1,500 then drop off to like 800 then go right back up to 1,500 and keep doing it over and over. Also, on another topic, after my car sits for a while (turned off) it cranks a while when I try to start it, like it needs to build up fuel pressure. Do you think im losing fuel pressure when its turned off? Something wrong with the pump maybe?

well for your starting problems, thats your main relay going out, replace that and you'll be fine.

as far as the revving, id say its your TPS sensor in your dizzy, the whole dizzy needs to be replaced cuz honda doesnt sell those seperatly.

Im sure you meant the throttle body not the dizzy but yea, that might be it. But I thought that either the main relay worked or it didnt, I didnt know it could be "going bad". Im gonna check that fuel pressure thing tomorrow though. Thanks for the reply

TPS or also the Fast Idle Valve, but I'm going with TPS on this one. Fuel pressure: if it was an issue then the engine wouldn't start - always check the electricals before the mechanicals. It's usually electrical that gives out.

ok the tps is semi-perminently screwed right to the drivers side of the TB. it shouldn't really be removed!! you need to get a whole new TB and stick it on. eacv is directlky behind the TB. those can be replaced and or adjusted/cleaned up.

Changed throttle bodies, im pretty sure it was the tps. never figured out the fuel problem though, it seemed to just work itself out over time. wierd...
