today's problem

here's the story - my car dumps about half a beer can of coolant when i park it - and i mean dump, it drains about that much in ten seconds. this happenes only when i park it, but not everytime i park... but perhaps every fourth or fifth time i turn the engine off, but it's not even really that regular. burnt coolant leaves that white residue and i've spotted it only on the right front catlatic converter and under the car directly in front of the passenger side door. when i turn up the heater the car smells heavily of antifreeze, and there doesn't appear to be any leak from any of the hoses, although i don't have a pressure gauge to check - i've been eyeballing it for two weeks now.

The culprit is clearly the heater core.. but i fudging hope not.

What do you need heat for, you live where it's warm all year round. Just bypass the heater core and not have to worry about the headach of replacing it. I replaced mine a few years ago, what a PITA!!!! And too top it all off, it just started leaking again, so I bypassed it cause I'm lazy!
