today's problem

yoyo - the trunk release that is located inside the glove box hasn't functioned since i got the car, the gas tank cover release works, and the trunk opens with the key.

is there some sort of actuator that i need to replace, or aught i just check the wiring?

Chances are it's the push button switch that is busted. I had one go bad on me once, same as you described. I went to a junk yard to look for one, and wouldn't you know it, one just happened to jump into my pocket.
