turbo questions?

I have a DOHC ZC and a ihi turbo from a old probe/MX6, my manifold is being made, my downpipe as well, exhaust will be about 2", I am getting a 12:1 FMU.

I have a question about the MAP sensor tho, it aint gonna work with boost will it? I saw this on ebay and the title was - HONDA ACURA map sensor relocation kit turbo.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2423392885

now relocating the map sensor wouldnt do anything would it?

what do i need to be able to run boost wihtout the CEL?

and for about 8 psi of boost do you think an intercooler about 19"x15"x3.5" be good or I also found pone from a saab that is 12"x8"x2"

which would be better?

the piping Im just gonna get 2" exhaust pipe and have it bent to work.

the oil lines im gonna get ss braided lines from somewhere and the coolant lines Ill just get some rubber hoses. but i also have a quastion about this. I am gonna run the oil return line to the pan towards the top of it, but where do i tap into for the feed lline and where do I get the coolant from? can I just run it inbetween the lines to the coolant temp sensor? if not where from?

thanks and as soon as you could reply about the intercooler thing would be the best cuz one ends in an hour.

also, how exactly do these work and will they on an OBD1 setup?

where do they go anyways.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2423581561

and I found this missing link, not as cheap but if it works better? and how does it work, will the map sensor 1 inch higher really not let it see boost?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2423229099

thanks again

I have heard of ppl having good luck with the missing link but i dunno about the relocation thing. And you need to get the oil supply from the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the motor. Check this out it for ls/vtec but the same thing can be done to supply oil for a turbo rather than the vtec solenoid

alright thanks.

and I have decided to do these measures before putting the turbo on

completely tear down engine, get everything COMPLETELY clean, hone cylinders, new rings, stage 2 clutch, new head gasket, intake manifold and throttle body gaskets(both are torn a bit and I am sure one is leaking, I can hear the whistle when i drive.
new bearings(probably)

where can I get my injectors cleaned, spomeone told me that stp fuel injector cleaner does nothing but lighten yor wallet.

I am also going to inspect everything else to make sure it is alright.

I am almost done with the house im building so when its done im gonna start this project since i wont need to drive to work for a while.

I saw a webpage where a 88 crx HF with the old probe turbo and the DOHC ZC, but with 450cc injectors and some ZDYNE fuel management ran a 14.0 and had 171 WHP. do you think with my poor mans fuel upgrade and stock injectors I could hit a 14.99 at least. and even though he had the better fuel upgrade he was still running the 8 psi that the stock wastegate is set at.

well, search for CRVTEC and youll get TONS!.

and what is wen? I will search on ebay for one though, and which would be better though,m the missing link or the gm 2 bar map sensor?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2423594999

and before someone thinks I am not getting one, I am geting a BOV from ebay and am lookign at this one, Im guessing it is pull type. now the fuel management runs of of the pressure of the manifold puting presssure back against the fuel, so do i need to tap into the manifold anywhere specific? also if this bov is activated by the vacuum in the manifold, I have to tap into the manifold again correct?

now my car came with the map sensor pon the TB, but the sedan i bought for parts had a sensor on a fitting on the back, and a hose from that to another box with a plug. my intake manifold had the bump on it from the mo;ld but no hole with the fitting, so i pulled it out of sedan, drilled mine and popped it in to get it to work, but then the map sensor wet out and i went back to the pone on the throttle body, so now i just pluggged off the fitting, coulcd I run the fmu to that? also could i get a t and run them both off of the one fitting?

and i am still trying ot find out where i should go for the coolant.

You can go to the Hondata website for the GM 3 Bar map sensor mod. They give part numbers and show "How-To". Just to let you know, the stock map sensor can handle more than 14psi of boost, but you'll have to use the AFC hack to get away from the CEL.

ok, so i wont have a problem with boost but the checkengine light will just stay on, or will it also run like crap. I will still get something to solve the problem but maybe dont have to right away.

I'm not sure about your car, but in my Civic, if I were to go to about 8psi of boost without my AFC or at least a missing link or blue box, it would go into limp more, run rich, and otherwise run like complete crap. It's embarrasing.

You're probably talking about a Vortech FMU. That's just a rising rate FMU that hold fuel back into the fuel rail under boost. The more boost, the more fuel it holds back on the vacuum operated rubber diaphragm.

The blue box I'm referring to is a electronic FMU that comes with all Greddy 15G kits. The old kit used to have a black box. These splice into the ECU harness and provide more fuel by adjusting the fuel maps. It also keeps the ECU from going into limp mode by hiding boost from the map sensor.

yeah, thats the one im getting. how much more is one that plugs into the ECU. cuz the rising rate is 100 bucks. and is 12:1 good or do I not need that much. maybe 10:1?

what companies sell the computer FMU's without having to buy the whole turbo kit.

The Greddy unit comes with the Greddy kits. If you look around, you could find one for less than $100. Most choose to use an Apexi S- or V-AFC and larger injectors. I would choose that route because the blue box cannot be tuned.

ok, so with the bluew box you doint have to do nothing about the MAP, with the SAFC is it the same, can I just leave it alone. and what size are the stock injectors in a 92 LX sedan? I read in HCI that B series came with 240cc I think and they supported like ~200HP.

I think they're the same, maybe 270cc or 290cc.
