Turbo question

I currently bought a 996 Turbo and I have a few question since this is my first European turbo car. Do I need blow off valve and turbo timer for this car? These two are almost the standard items for the Japanese turbo car, but not sure about the European turbo car. Thanks in advance.

Not really but the turbo timer is a good thing to get it helps in the long run of the life of the car,but the car runs the pump for the turbo for 30 seconds after you turn off the car. The blow off valve you don't need porsche uses bypass valve it does the same thing in a different way.

p.s. Where you from?
Man it must be fun to own an new turbo those things kick ass.

Thank you very much. What brand of turbo timer should I get? i don't want to put a Japanese turbo timer in a European car. Any suggestion? I am from Canada. Actually I go back and forth Vancouver and Hong Kong all the time. What about you? Where are you from?

I live in Florida but go to Europe over the summers. I'm only 18 so I can't be riding in a new 996 Turbo but one day I will. Check with the Porsche Dealer he will point you in the right direction.

p.s. I drive an 951 (944 Trubo), but I'm going to mod it soon and make it a viper killer

996 TT

I hope you guys are still taking notice of this message. I owned a 02 996TT and I am from Hk as well. But i live in Boston, MA. I have an X5 as well. What you do really is to keep the car going after you parked. Give it two minutes, that will be good enough. I ahven't heard anything about a Turbo timer for Turbo.
